One of the more famous travelers to Mecca while in the 14th century was a Moroccan scholar and traveler, Ibn Battuta. In his rihla (account), he gives a vast description of the town. across the 12 months 1327 CE or 729 AH, Ibn Battuta arrived for the holy metropolis. right away, he claims, it felt similar to a holy sanctuary, and thus he started off the rites on the pilgrimage.
